February is a busy month around Roosevelt! We had a great PTA meeting on January 20th. We are so excited about all the things we have coming up, but we also need volunteers to help us with everything going on!
We are already looking to next year’s PTA and hope we can encourage you to consider joining the Nominating Committee! This committee, required by the Washington State PTA, consists of three PTA members and recruits candidates for elected positions (president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer).
Winter Enrichment classes begin the week of February 2nd!
Our annual t-shirt design contest kicks off on February 9th. Students will receive design pages and be able to submit their designs until February 20th. Once all designs have been collected, the PTA board will narrow the selections to 10. Mr. Darragh and Mrs. Allsop will then choose their top 3. Out of those 3, each student will get to vote for the winner. The PTA will provide a free t-shirt to all students and staff featuring the winning design this Spring. We’ll also have this special shirt available for purchase during our Spring Spirit Gear Sale.

Bedtime and Books is coming up on Thursday, February 19th. Wear your comfy clothes and feel free to bring a stuffy. After a cozy story time in the gym, we’ll head to the cafeteria for cocoa and cookies. All students can choose a new book to take home from this event.
Please gather any new or gently used books that you would like to contribute to our 50¢ Book Sale. Students can bring book donations to school anytime between now and February 20th. We’ll also have collection bins out during Bedtime and Books. Proceeds will be used to support student activities (such as Mountain School, new library books, etc.). The sale will be open February 23rd–27th.

Enrichment Updates
Winter Enrichment Classes kick off this week, beginning February 3rd and continuing through the week of March 23rd. We’re excited to see students jump into a new season of learning and creativity. Be sure to mark your calendars—Spring Enrichment registration begins on March 11th. More details coming soon!
